Hitting Technique
To hit a key correctly:
1) place hands in the home position;
2) slightly lift all the fingers except for a hitting one;
3) lift a hand;
4) hit a key with the proper finger using the whole hand;
5) return all the fingers to the home position.
If, while hitting with the index finger, it is difficult to keep the other fingers still, you may lift the middle finger and the ring finger slightly, but keep the little finger in its position.
This hitting technique was used on typewriters where pressing a key demanded certain physical effort. Modern keyboards require far less efforts; therefore, this technique may be slightly changed. During training, each student develops its own unique technique of key hitting.
